Noise Tolerance - Belt-driven models are quieter than chain-driven motors. If noise is an issue, homeowners should install a belt-driven opener. The LiftMaster Deluxe and Elite series have extra features to keep them quiet. They have a soft start and stop so the opener does not jerk the door, making a lot of noise. These models use DC motors, which are much quieter than AC motors and operate with less vibration. When deciding what opener to install, homeowners must ask themselves the following questions.
Is there a bedroom above the garage?
