Evergreen became a popular summer resort in the 1920 and 1930s for Denver residents and Hollywood elites, including Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, and Mary Pickford, who escaped to the luxurious Troutdale-in-the-Pines resort along Upper Bear Creek.
